This project involved reinterpreting a Eadweard Muybridge motion study sequence through experimental animation. Using Muybridge’s donkey sequence as the foundation, each frame was individually manipulated and redesigned to explore creative image transformation and visual experimentation rather than a traditional narrative structure. In total, 90 unique frames were created, incorporating surreal and playful background elements that continuously shift throughout the animation. The final piece is a looping 3-frames-per-second animation of the donkey bucking, emphasizing motion, rhythm, and the possibilities of frame-by-frame image manipulation.
